Donnie Kennedy or Ron Paul? Which one will advance the Cause?

Ron Kennedy

May 14, 2007

Why should Southern activists support a political unknown like Donnie Kennedy when there is already a sitting Southern Congressman running in the 2008 GOP Presidential Primary? Good question-one that deserves an answer.
If a Southern activist desires only to promote a candidate who is against "Big Government," then Ron Paul would be the logical choice in the 2008 GOP presidential primary. If a Southern activist wishes to advance the libertarian cause, then Ron Paul would be the only choice. If a Southern activist wants to support a "conservative" Southern politician, born and educated in Pennsylvania, just like in 1994 when Southern activists supported Newt Gingrich another "Southern" politician born and educated in Pennsylvania, then Ron Paul is the choice for 2008. But as Donnie Kennedy has already noted, when it comes to reclaiming Southern liberty "Good Republicans Won't Do!"
As explained in the first chapter of Reclaiming Liberty, business-as-usual conservatives are the very reason Southerners lost the original, constitutionally limited, Republic of Republics. Appomattox killed the America of our founding fathers. Only by restoring REAL State's Rights, as Donnie Kennedy demands in his Platform, can Southern liberty be restored. Good Republicans, conservatives and/or libertarians who do not accept our demand for liberty are not good enough. They will never advocate for and lead a mass movement to overthrow the current political system and replace it with a system based on REAL State's Rights-Donnie refers to it as a liberty-based society-a system in which we the people of the sovereign states have the power to protect our liberty from the unauthorized encroachments of the Federal Government. Ron Paul, despite his conservative/libertarian background, has never spoken out against the evils of Lincoln's attack upon the South and the Constitution. Ron Paul does not offer the South a voice in defense of its Liberty, Donnie Kennedy does.
So why should Southerners support Donnie Kennedy's 2008 Presidential Primary effort?
          (1) Donnie, like all Southern activists, understands that the Federal Empire cannot be resisted without first returning to the people of the sovereign states REAL State's Rights-inclusive of the inherent constitutional rights of nullification and secession. Ron Paul, despite years in office, has never initiated a mass effort to restore REAL State's Rights or to challenge the legitimacy of the current Federal Empire.
          (2) Donnie believes in using the political process to overthrow the current liberal/socialist system and replace it with a liberty-based society. The current system cannot be repaired. It must be replaced! Ron Paul believes in working within the current system to make it better, to reform it, to make it a fairer system. He is constrained by the reality of our current political system. Donnie does not believe in realistic politics, he believes in radical change!
          (3) Donnie understands that the South is the only section of America that has an interest in maintaining its inheritance of traditional conservatism, limited Federalism, and core Christian values. Donnie wants to initiate a mass movement in the South and use it as a leverage to force the rest of America to recognize the South's just complaints against Lincoln's Federal Empire and force America to understand the need to restore our original, constitutionally limited Republic of Republics (REAL State's Rights). Ron Paul views the South as no different than any other part of America. He has never been active in defending our Southern heritage. He is in fact a good, conservative and an American nationalist, whereas Donnie is a Southern nationalist.
          (4) The probability of either Ron Paul or Donnie Kennedy winning the GOP's nomination is almost zero! Donnie wants to use this campaign to "normalize" the concept of REAL State's Rights as the only means that will effectively control the Federal Government. Donnie is looking beyond the 2008 campaign toward a near future in which hundreds of Southern activists are contesting and winning local and statewide elections-all calling for the political overthrow of the current liberal/socialist political system and replacing it with a liberty-based society-a society that enjoys REAL State's Rights. Donnie has a vision for a better Southern tomorrow and a plan to bring it about. If Ron Paul has a plan and vision for the South, he has yet to share it with us "average" Southerners.
The Kennedy campaign is about the message NOT the messenger. Show your support for this message by (1) going to Dixie Daily News at www.southerncaucus.org and voting for Donnie Kennedy as your choice in the 2008 campaign, (2) visit his web site www.electwdkennedy.com and sign up to help, and (3) send this e-mail to all of your friends. Southern Liberty is worth this effort; we are not too few, we are not too poor, we are not too weak to get this job done. Its time to Reclaim OUR Liberty!
